The misguided campaign to clamp down on homemade firearms presents a slippery slope.

ince before the United States existed as an independent nation, Americans have been making firearms at home. If President Biden’s proposed limitations on “ghost guns” take the form that the gun-control movement hopes they will, this centuries-long practice will soon be brought to a close. Anyone who wishes to avoid the imposition of yet another federal fence around their rights should be watching this development with apprehension.

The gun-control group Everytown describes a “ghost gun” as a “a do-it-yourself, homemade gun made from easy-to-get, unregulated building blocks . . . made by an individual, not a federally licensed manufacturer or importer.”

  1. Do these morons think that just because they have a fool in office that any “ghost gun” law they make up is going to stop the making of guns at home? All they are going to do is force gun making underground. After all Prohibition worked so well for them. There are plenty of plans and how-to’s on the internet. The dark web would be fill of them!
Block ammunition sales or manufacture, same scenario. Instead of drugs, the illegals can smuggle in ammo and gun parts.

  2. Blank Stare Joe really does not have a clue as to what is going on, he is incapable of independent thought. He is, however, very obedient to what his handlers tell him to do.

  3. ‘The gun-control group Everytown describes a “ghost gun” as a “a do-it-yourself, homemade gun made from easy-to-get, unregulated building blocks . . . made by an individual, not a federally licensed manufacturer or importer.” …’ Weird. Do-it-yourself, homemade guns made by individuals have been legal in this country even before this country became the USA.
I think ‘Everytown’, the Giffords Law Center, and every other anti gun organization should be labeled as hate groups.

  4. First off since when can a president all by himself make law? An executive order is not law and shouldn’t be treated as such especially when it comes to EOs that affect the Bill of Rights. It should be very clear to most people that the democrat party is the reason we have the 2nd amendment!

    1. The Democrat Party of today certainly is but never forget about the growing bureaucratic police state.

  5. If the Bill of Rights was written at a time when AR-15 were not around, then AR-15’s can not be banned due to the fact they are considered “weapons of war”. Muskets were around at the time of BoR, were they not considered “weapons of war”?

    1. Simply because AR-15s are NOT a weapon of war or an “assault weapon”. The M-16 is because it it capable of firing more than one shot with a trigger pull. AR-15s require a trigger pull for each firing.

Banning a specific gun is getting the elephant’s nose in the tent. Once in, there will be no stopping.

No guns = full government control of your life. Then the take over of America is complete.

  6. One might ask to see the research data of how many of these specific “ghost guns” have been used in murders so that we might determine how many lives this unconstitutional policy will save. I think I know the answer–none.

    1. Con – you are VERY likely correct with your ‘guesstimate’. I say that for two reasons – 1) if the ghosts were really such an issue, the antis would be screaming see see – them ghost guns are PURE evil – maybe even worse than the ‘real’ evil black rifles. 2) I never met any garden variety criminal that had the patience to build their own gun If they had that much initiative, they probably would have a job.

    2. i ask does it really matter if all murders were committed with ghost guns. there is only about 30,000 deaths by firearm per year average. that include suicides, accidental discharge, police killings, self defense, and hunting accidents. there is far more drunk driver deaths. there is a lot more than that by knife. that doesnt count cigarettes, second hand smoke, diabetes, heart disease, medical malpractice, car accidents, the list goes on and on. this gun control issue is all about control over the american people. if it wasnt the democratic party wouldnt have voted down a measure 3 weeks ago to prosecute illegals for trying to buy a firearm. just think about that.

    1. Include knives, baseball bats, any blunt instrument, hands, feet, etc. I could go on, but you get the idea.

  7. The real reason the left is afraid of privately constructed weapons is because they won’t have records of them when they start weapon confiscation. They want to take ALL weapons.

  8. no worry I’ll just get me some machinery build em and bury em in some PCV pipe they’ll be there and ready for atleast 30 years maybe a touch longer.

  9. this centuries-long practice will soon be brought to a close?

No, no it won’t. The Neo-fascist democrats have set precedent in ignoring laws that are inconvenient, and now it is patriotic Americans turn! We will make our weapons no matter what some dumb-ass democrat POS orders!
