PANIC! MSNBC Sees ‘Death Sentence’ for Biden Agenda, End of Republic

News & Politics

To say that the Democratic hacks posing as hosts at MSNBC are panicked is an understatement. On Monday, Nicolle Wallace lashed out at Senator Joe Manchin’s announcement that the moderate Democrat will not be voting for the radical attempt to federalize voting in this country, calling it a political “death sentence” for Biden that might lead to the fall of the Republic.

Deadline: White House host Wallace opened the show with hyperbolic gloom: “West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin has, wittingly or unfittingly, ushered in an official death sentence for most of the Biden agenda by enacting a brand new standard for legislation, claiming that he will not back legislation that doesn’t have bipartisan support.”

“Wittingly or unwittingly?” “Death sentence?” In MSNBC-speak, stooge Manchin is wrecking the country by depriving us of the most extreme parts of the Democratic agenda. Wallace vented her anger, comparing the West Virginia Democrat to Trump: “While Manchin may also be navigating his home state’s view, his stated reasons for opposing the voting rights legislation are positively Trumpian in their detachment from the facts.”

Democratic Congressman James Clyburn, the House Majority Whip, compared Manchin’s decision to… the fall of Rome.

When I used to teach history I said two dates. When I was studying history, tell me about the dates. 76 A.D. 76 A.D. That’s the year the Roman empire fell and passed the whole world into darkness. And it did not come to light again until 1066 when William the Conqueror opened it up again and if we’re not careful this —  the greatest democracy on the face of the Earth will go the way of the Roman Empire.

Rather than call that out as hyperbolic nonsense, Wallace loved it: “I have been groping for the appropriate historical parallel. I thank you very much for just now providing it.”

NICOLLE WALLACE: West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin has, wittingly or unfittingly, ushered in an official death sentence for most of the Biden agenda by enacting a brand new standard for legislation, claiming that he will not back legislation that doesn’t have bipartisan support. Even if he backs what the legislation is doing. The New York Times writes it up this way. Quote: “The senator has effectively given Republicans veto power, saying he does not oppose the substance of the legislation. Only its lack of bipartisan support.” The West Virginia senator delivering the fatal blow to voting rights legislation that would have undone the suppression laws racing through state legislatures propelled by the big lie that there was rampant voter fraud in the 2020 election.

WALLACE: While Manchin may also be navigating his home state’s view, his stated reasons for opposing the voting rights legislation are positively Trumpian in their detachment from the facts. The Manchin excuse being that the voting rights legislation is divisive. Mitch McConnell, a man without shame, doesn’t worry about things like divisiveness when he kills legislation to appoint a bipartisan commission to investigate the deadly insurrection.

WALLACE: This sacred right is under assault like I have never seen. Assault on the democracy. What I’m worried about is how un-American this whole initiative is. It’s sick. It’s sick. The Republican voters I know find this despicable. Republican voters. This makes Jim Crow look like Jim Eagle. This is gigantic, what they’re trying to do. It cannot be sustained and will do everything in my power with my friends in the House and the Senate to keep that from becoming the law.

WALLACE: Jake, this is I think the most public and seismic rebuke of this very popular incumbent President from Joe Manchin. Was it intended as such?

DOWD: I get Joe Manchin and I know him and known him for years. But I think we can call out his hypocrisy in this moment.

JAMES CLYBURN: When I used to teach history I said two dates.
