During a very fiery segment on Thursday’s edition of The Joe Rogan Experience, the prolific eponymous podcaster and progressive YouTuber Kyle Kulinski tore into CNN media journalist and Reliable Sources host Brian Stelter for his bootlicking interview with White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki a couple of weeks ago. The two also teed off on CNN in general for not acting like “real people” and also calling for the “censorship” of their opponents. [Audio available here.]
Speaking about Stelter’s interview, Rogan was flabbergasted by what he saw. “Brian Stelter talking to the press secretary saying ‘what are we doing wrong?’ What are we doing wrong,” he exclaimed to Kulinski. “Like, hey motherfucker, you’re supposed to be a journalist!”
What had Rogan so fired up was this question Stelter posed to Psaki in their gooey interview: “Busy summer ahead, infrastructure, election reform, what does the press get wrong when covering Biden’s agenda, when you watch the news, when you read the news what, do you think we get wrong?”
In her answer, Psaki suggested that the media’s journalistic “muscles have atrophied a little bit over the last few years” because of former President Trump.
Rogan also ripped Stelter for the fact that his show continued to plummet in the ratings:
ROGAN: Well, Brian Stelter’s show keeps slipping and slipping and slipping in the ratings.
KULINSKI: He’s the worst. And you know what they do –
ROGAN: Same with Don Lemon’s. It’s the same thing. Everybody knows they’re not real. They’re not real humans.
“And Joe, when you read those articles and you listen to those guys talk – Stelter’s done this a number of times – there are segments where they’re outright calling for censorship,” Kulinski reminded his host.
He added: “They’re like, ‘hey, please deplatform the people who I don’t like because, you know, oh because they’re saying things that are conspiracy theories.” And by the way, they use that for fucking anything. They use it so loosely.”
All of this was kicked off by a memory Rogan had of CNN freaking out about the fact that there were YouTube channels more popular than them. “Remember when CNN was talking about podcasters, about how there’s people on YouTube that get more views than a CNN show. As if it was some horrible thing. They didn’t even understand the way they were describing it,” explained.
Rogan went further and thrashed CNN for thinking “they’re entitled to viewers” and failing to get them. “This is because the market has spoken and your show’s fucking terrible,” he chided. “That’s right. They suck. They’re terrible at it,” Kulinski agreed.
And despite Rogan comments going viral online, by the publication of the piece, Stelter had not publicly responded.

ROGAN: But it’s not even that. It’s like, they’re –they’re obviously being told a certain amount of what to do. And, I mean, maybe he’d be an interesting guy if he had his own fucking podcast. If he could just rely on his own personality and be himself. I don’t know. I can’t imagine doing that gig.
KULINSKI: No, you’re 100 percent right about that.
ROGAN: Any of those guys. That gig is a strange gig.
