The View co-host Joy Behar callously dismissed the women who accused former President Bill Clinton of sexual assault and rape as “so-called victims,” on Wednesday’s show. She went on to passionately argue that Hillary Clinton was “the real victim,” and America, for losing such a worthy would-be president.
The hosts were discussing whether or not Monica Lewinsky should be considered a victim of Bill Clinton and whether he faced any consequences. Talking about his impeachment, Ana Navarro claimed that Democrats would’ve impeached him today, because they “tend to hold themselves and their own accountable and to a higher standard.”
After co-host Sara Haines complained Hillary Clinton and Lewinsky suffered more than Bill Clinton did, but Joy Behar was adamant that Hillary and America was the most victimized, because we didn’t get to experience her as president.
On top of that, Behar snubbed the women who credibly accused President Clinton of rape, minimizing their alleged assault as “peccadillos:”
JOY BEHAR: I would submit here that the real victim was the United States of America because and then Hillary Clinton. Because If you remember, the debate going on between Trump and Hillary, Trump brought in all these so-called victims of Clinton’s peccadillos, right?
[Audience laughter]
ANA NAVARRO: If Democrats had done the same thing and brought in Trump’s victims, they would have needed an arena!
BEHAR: Exactly.
[applause]
HOSTIN: To be clear, there were a lot — he allegedly abused a lot of women, Bill Clinton, he was no saint –
BEHAR: But when he [Trump] brought those women into that debate that hurt Hillary Clinton and the real victim, the country lost a great person, Hillary Clinton could have been the president instead of that criminal that we had there for four years [applause] and that’s the real victim. That’s the real loser.
Afterwards, co-host Sunny Hostin tried to clean up Behar’s mishap. “You know, we were talking off camera about the fact that we’re not trying to minimize–and i don’t think you were either, Joy–that there were creditable victims of Bill Clinton’s sexual harassment,” Hostin stated, as Behar vehemently agreed in the background.
“Paula Jones being one of them and so there’s no question that he behaved badly and he abused his power in government,” Hostin added. Hostin and Behar must’ve got the memo from the producers.
But Behar let her true feelings be known plenty of times before. In 2016, Behar said on the show, she would vote for Clinton even if he was credibly accused of rape, because he “votes in my favor.” As much as she brings up the accusations against Trump, she has frequently dismissed the allegations against Clinton as unimportant, such as here as well.
Navarro made this point to end the segment too. “They [conservatives] were letting Trump off for much worse. Much worse!”

ANA NAVARRO: He was impeached but the vote was not there to convict him, but I think if that impeachment had happened today he would have been convicted. He would be convicted by Democrats.The same Democrats who kicked Al Franken out of the senate for much, much less. Democrats tend to hold themselves and their own accountable and to a higher standard. What I do think, I think things have changed. The MeToo movement definitely changed the way we look at the power dynamic. I think at that point, Monica Lewinsky probably got the brunt and she said in that clip her life was ruined by the internet. Look, her life was ruined by the mistakes and the consequences of what happened because of what she did. Not the internet, but by what she did. I think Bill Clinton’s life didn’t equally suffer. SARA HAINES: They were pawns.
ANA NAVARRO: They were weaponized against Hillary. Brought there to play with her head during a debate so she would be thinking about that, and get her off her game, while at the same time being hypocritical because they were letting Trump off for much worse. Much worse!
