Libs of TikTok exposed Palm Springs drag show where young child danced for money — drag queen called reaction ‘homophobic’ and immoral

News & Politics

A drag queen who brought a young girl up on stage to dance for money in a video from Palm Springs, California, is accusing critics of homophobia.

Sabryna Williams claims to have received hateful messages on Instagram since Libs of TikTok posted a video of Williams bringing a young girl onto the stage to dance while an elderly man places money in front of her.

“I’ve been having to delete comments on my Instagram all day where people were calling me a pedophile and disgusting,” Williams said to the Palms Springs Post. “I’ve been doing this for 22 years, and I’ve never seen anything like this before.”

The video on the Libs of TikTok account garnered over 500k views.

Williams went on to say the girl was simply having fun.

“It’s the middle of the day. There were a bunch of other kids there, and that girl was dancing her heart out to every song,” Williams continued. “I asked her if she wanted to come on stage, and she went right on up there.”

The video was from a drag show performed during brunch on the Fourth of July at a restaurant called Oscar’s in downtown Palm Springs. The owner of the restaurant, Dan Gore, told KESQ-TV that he thought the drag shows were inspiring.

“It just uplifts people, and it’s a great experience in all aspects – the music, the dancing, the shablams, the death drops, the costumes,” Gore said. “What kids don’t enjoy some sort of spectacle?”

Williams went on to accuse those upset about the video of homophobia and immorality.

“It’s just another form of homophobia we have to deal with because people are afraid of things they aren’t used to,” Williams said. “We’ve lost all sense of morals and forgotten how to treat other people.”

Williams also said that drag teaches children to be themselves.

“The younger, the better,” Williams told KESQ.
