MSNBC: Inflation Reduction Act is ‘Marketing Genius’ for Democrats

The pen ink wasn’t even dry on the so-called Inflation Reduction Act that President Biden signed into law before MSNBC started hyping the legislation and praising the Democrats’ “marketing branding genius.” Moments after Biden signed the bill into law, on MSNBC’s Deadline: White House frequent MSNBC guest Maria Teresa Kumar gushed over how smart her party was for the name they chose for the law, despite the fact that it won’t actually lower inflation.

Guest host John Heilemann teed Kumar up by asking her if it was “worth the wait.” Heilemann bemoaned how “Build Back Better wait seemed to go on forever, the administration took on a fair amount of water over it. And then it finally got done.”

He then asked her to “talk about the substance of this bill and its value and also the politics and its potential value for Democrats.”

Kumar melted with praise for the newly enacted law and its name:

Well, let’s start with the name of it. The Inflation Reduction Act basically speaks to what everybody’s concerned with right now, kitchen table checkbook items. And so he addresses this head-on. You and I often talk about how the Democrats aren’t the best marketers. This is marketing branding genius.

She swooned over the massive spending the bill promises, seeming to not understand how this will only make inflation worse. “Coupled with The Chips Act and The American Recovery Act, this bill affords close to $500 billion in clean energy and clean tech.” She added how it’s “historic.”

According to Kumar, the bill appeals to every demographic group “making sure that corporations are paying their fair share. Bundled together, we’re talking to the youth vote. We’re talking to independents and we’re talking to older voters.”

The left thinks that they can name the bill the “Inflation Reduction Act” and expect voters to believe inflation will be solved. The Congressional Budget Office which purports to be nonpartisan even said that the bill will have a negligible effect on inflation at best.

False advertising isn’t “marketing branding genius,” it’s deception! The law should be called the “Inflation Enhancement Act.”

This gaslighting from MSNBC over the Inflation Reduction Act was made possible thanks to the endorsement from Progressive and Wayfair. Their information is linked so you can let them know about the biased news they fund.

MSNBC’s Deadline: White House
August 16, 2022
4:05:41 p.m. Eastern

JOHN HEILEMANN: Maria Teresa, I want to ask you, you know, is it worth the wait? I mean, the Build Back Better wait seemed to go on forever, the administration took on a fair amount of water over it. And then it finally got done. Talk about the substance of this bill and its value and also the politics and its potential value for Democrats.

MARIA TERESA KUMAR: Well, let’s start with the name of it. The Inflation Reduction Act basically speaks to what everybody’s concerned with right now, kitchen table checkbook items. And so he addresses this head-on. You and I often talk about how the Democrats aren’t the best marketers. This is marketing branding genius. And now let’s move into the actual legislation.

Coupled with The Chips Act and The American Recovery Act, this bill affords close to $500 billion in clean energy and clean tech. It’s historic on its own but coupled together, it is telling the American people the big bets that Biden believes we need to do and it’s in the future.

Now we talk about Medicare prescription drugs, and we’re talking about perking up the ears of older voters who happen to be more on the moderate side, more conservative. This benefits them, and then finally, the corporate taxes.

That making sure that corporations are paying their fair share. Bundled together, we’re talking to the youth vote. We’re talking to independents and we’re talking to older voters. Going into a midterm where we know it’s going to be very, very tight races in some of the reddest states in the country. This is a big one for him.
