Hollywood actress Florence Pugh defiantly addressed the online furor when she wore a sheer top gown to a fashion show in Rome, Italy.
Pugh said that trolls online attacked her for wearing the sheer dress and made fun of her small breasts that were exposed in many photographs. She made the comments in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine.
“I was comfortable with my small breasts. And showing them like that — it aggravated [people] that I was comfortable,” she claimed. “It was just alarming, how perturbed they were. They were so angry that I was confident, and they wanted to let me know that they would never wank over me. Well, don’t.”
Pugh had posted a response to the body-shaming trolls on her Instagram as well.
“So many of you wanted to aggressively let me know how disappointed you were by my ‘tiny t***,’ or how I should be embarrassed by being so ‘flat chested.’ I’ve lived in my body for a long time. I’m fully aware of my breast size and am not scared of it,” she wrote.
“What’s more concerning is … why are you so scared of breasts?” she added “Small? Large? Left? Right? Only one? Maybe none? What. Is. So. Terrifying.”
She went on to offer some life advice for those mocking her body.
“Grow up. Respect people,” she wrote. “Respect bodies. Respect all women. Respect humans. Life will get a whole lot easier, I promise.”
She also complained in the interview that so many people were obsessed with a sex scene shown in a trailer of her latest movie with music star Harry Syles.
“When it’s reduced to your sex scenes,” she said, “it’s not why we do it. It’s not why I’m in this industry.”
Pugh is best known for her role in the grisly horror movie “Midsommar” and the superhero Marvel movie “Black Widow.”
