ABC Barely Mentions Party of Vegas Journo’s Murderer, CBS & NBC Ignore

ABC’s World News Tonight and Good Morning America on Tuesday broke their network’s silence on the party of the brutal murder of longtime Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Jeff German by Democrat Clark County, Nevada Public Administrator Robert Telles. While the network ran an almost identical news package on the story, they were only able to manage one brief mention of Telles’s political party. Meanwhile, rival networks CBS & NBC have continued their censorship of the Telles’s party.

“Tonight, the Las Vegas politician officially charged with murdering a long-time investigative journalist appearing in court” correspondent Erielle Reshef reported at the top of the segment. Adding that “authorities say Clark County public administrator Robert Telles was seen here dressed in disguise before fatally stabbing reporter Jeff German after an altercation.”

Rita Reid who had reportedly worked with Telles, went to German with her coworkers about his toxic work behavior. “So we decided that we would go public. We would try to talk to a journalist here in our community and see if somebody felt it was worthy of reporting,” Rita explained to Reshef.

Then came the moment where Reshef finally mentioned Telles’ political party in passing. “Reid decided to run against Telles in the Democratic primary and won.”

She didn’t directly identify Telles as a Democrat, but that Reid ran against him in the Democrat Party. If you weren’t paying attention, you might not have caught what Reshef said.

If Telles was a Republican this would’ve lead every newscast and been on the front page of every paper in the United States. Instead, NBC & CBS continued ignoring this in favor of nonstop coverage of the Queen of England dying.

The networks’ hesitance or refusal to identify the political party of the politician who murdered a journalist was made possible by Progressive on ABC, Chewy on CBS, and Prevagen on NBC. Their information is linked.

9/13/2022
6:45:06 p.m. Eastern

DAVID MUIR: We’re going to turn now to the killing of a Las Vegas reporter and the suspect, a county official who was the subject of a series of articles by that journalist. And tonight here, a coworker of that county official now speaking out. Here’s Erielle Reshef.

ERIELLE RESHEF: Tonight, the Las Vegas politician officially charged with murdering a long-time investigative journalist appearing in court.

ROBERT TELLES: Your honor, yes, thank you.

RESHEF: Authorities say Clark County public administrator Robert Telles was seen here dressed in disguise before fatally stabbing reporter Jeff German after an altercation.

RICHARD SCOW (CLARK COUNTY CHIEF DEPUTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY): DNA recovered from the victim’s hands, under his fingernails. They do identify the DNA as the defendants.

RESHEF: German behind several scathing articles about Telles’ alleged toxic workplace behavior. And now one of Telles’ former co-workers Rita Reid, telling ABC News she and colleagues went to German with their story.

RITA REID: So we decided that we would go public. We would try to talk to a journalist here in our community and see if somebody felt it was worthy of reporting.

RESHEF: Reid decided to run against Telles in the Democratic primary and won. She says ultimately German’s commitment to journalism cost him his life.

REID: He was our hero. I mean, we can never thank him enough.

RESHEF: And we reached out to Telles’ attorney, so far they’re not commenting. His lawyers asking the court for a delay. So far he is being held behind bars and has not yet entered a plea.
