Nets Yawn at Bloody Violence in Soros-Backed DA’s Philly

Another day, another spasm of violence in Philadelphia, a major city where George Soros spent $1.7 million to elect far-left Democrat District Attorney Larry Krasner. Yet, typically, the networks on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning mostly ignored the shooting of five teenagers at a local Philadelphia high school.

An epidemic of violence has swept the city, — murders are about to hit 400 on the year — but NBC couldn’t be bothered and CBS and ABC barely noticed. On Wednesday’s CBS Mornings, co-host Gayle King allowed 23 seconds. She quickly noted, “Police in Philadelphia say a gunman targeted a group of high school football players after a scrimmage yesterday. One of the players, a 14-year-old teenager, was killed. Four others were wounded, and police are still looking for the attackers.”

With no irony, King added, “Now this shooting happened just hours after the mayor banned guns and other deadly weapons from all recreation areas in the city.” Apparently banning guns at rec centers didn’t solve the problem.

The only other coverage came from Tuesday’s World News Tonight. Anchor David Muir allowed 15 seconds:

Tonight, authorities say there’s been a deadly shooting following a high school football scrimmage in Philadelphia. Authorities say one player was killed, four others wounded as they were walking off the field at Roxborough High School. Police say they were ambushed by two gunmen shooting from a Ford Explorer.

According to WHYY Philadelphia, Soros donated almost 30 percent of all the money spent to get Krasner the nomination. And now in his second term, Krasner is not prosecuting criminals aged 18 to 25:

Philadelphia district attorney Larry Krasner has presided over a surge in violent crime, and his new policy promises more of it. Krasner recently announced plans to de-prosecute crimes for offenders aged 18 to 25, ignoring how this age group tends to contain the most violent of criminal defendants.

Krasner’s office has established a new unit that will move some 18-to-25-year-old defendants into “rehabilitative programming” instead of seeking criminal punishments.

Krasner has been accused of abusing the grand jury process in order to charge a police officer with murder. All of this deserves some investigating from the networks. But they don’t want to touch the crime wave in Democratic Philadelphia, as well as the George Soros connection.
