Morning Joe‘s parade of woke virtue-signaling marches on!
Earlier this week, we caught Joe Scarborough apologizing for his white privilege. Speaking of the death of Tyre Nichols, Scarborough said that the police wouldn’t have attacked him in similar circumstances because they’d know that “that hell would rain down from above.” Scarborough conveniently ignored the fact that hell did rain down on the cops involved in the Nichols beating—all were promptly fired and charged with murder!
Today, Morning Joe‘s virtue-signaling spotlight turned to the ouster, by a vote of Republicans, of far-left Representative Ilhan Omar from her seat on the House Foreign Affairs committee.
Scarborough spoke of some of Omar’s past comments having been “considered” to be antisemitic.
“Considered?” As a sitting Member of Congress, Omar said that support of Israel by US politicians was “all about the Benjamins.”
When Omar was subsequently asked who she thought was paying American politicians to be pro-Israel, she replied: “AIPAC”—the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
Although Omar subsequently mouthed an apology, as recently as this past weekend she claimed that when she made the statement, she was unaware of the “Jews and money” trope. Riiiiight.
That didn’t stop Katty Kay from claiming that Omar had made a “real” apology, which Kay found “far more authentic” than that made by Marjorie Taylor Greene for some of her outlandish and offensive statements.
Toward the end of the segment, Joe, Mika, and Michael Steele—the ex-RNC chairman turned member of the disgraced Lincoln Project—rose as one to proclaim, “we stand with them,” referring to Omar and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez.
Full woke virtue-signaling marks, Joe, Mika, and Michael!
Scarborough condemned the “hypocrisy” of the Republicans who voted to unseat Omar. Yet, in his virtue-signaling proclamation, Scarborough said “we stand with this intellectual diversity.” He meant it in the sense that it is beneficial for Congress to reflect a wide array of opinions.
But if there is any movement in America that looks to stamp out “intellectual diversity,” it is the woke left. In academia, corporate America, sports, and social media, the cancel-culturists seek to defenestrate and destroy the careers of those who take issue with their leftist line.
So, yeah, Joe: we got your “hypocrisy” right here.
Morning Joe’s virtue-signaling declaration that they “stand with” Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was sponsored in part by Liberty Mutual, GlaxoSmithKline, maker of Shingrix, and Lincoln.
Here’s the transcript.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Again, the hypocrisy is absolutely, absolutely crazy.
And I will say, Congresswoman Omar made a couple of statements that were considered antisemitic. She apologized for them. I must say, they were, they, they certainly were no worse, and I would say, far less egregious, than what we hear
from Donald Trump, what we hear from Donald Trump’s guests, dinner guests. What we’ve been hearing from the Republican party over the, over the past five, six years.
. . .
KATTY KAY: Ilhan Omar has had a real apology about what she has said, and she has actually used the word. She said, listen, I have actually learned from my fellow Jewish Members of Congress, and I realize the pain of the antisemitic tropes. Her apology, I thought, was far more authentic.
. . . .
SCARBOROUGH: So, yes. Ilhan Omar says a lot of things that I disagree with. AOC says a lot of things I disagree with. Uh, uh, uh: that’s America!
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: We stand with them this morning.
SCARBOROUGH: Oh, my God, we stand with them this morning!
MICHAEL STEELE: Exactly.
SCARBOROUGH: Not only do we stand with them. We stand with something much, much bigger than just them. We stand, again, with this intellectual, uh, uh, uh, uh, diversity. This friction, where we get on these committees and we fight.
