Whoopi Defends China’s Spy Balloon: ‘We Spy on Them. They Spy on Us’

Marxist moral relativism was stinking up the set of ABC’s The View on Monday as co-host Whoopi Goldberg tried to minimize and defended Communist China violating U.S. airspace with a spy balloon last week and over the weekend. According to her, we spy on them so it’s natural that they would spy on us.

“Listen, we spy on them. They spy on us. We find out stuff. They find out stuff. You know. And the world keeps going around,” Goldberg nonchalantly proclaimed as the capstone to a segment loaded with ridiculous and unhinged outrage at those critical of President Biden and the Pentagon.

Near the top of the segment, racist co-host Sunny Hostin noted Pentagon officials were defending Biden’s handling of the balloon by recalling such incidents started under former President Trump. She also suggested that the Pentagon keeping Trump in the dark about those breaches of U.S. airspace was the right thing to do since they couldn’t trust the then-President:

You know, I think that the reason that perhaps Trump didn’t know — because Trump is now tweeting, of course, on his fake social media thing – platform that, you know, he would have shot it down. He didn’t know about it.

I think because he didn’t trust his military advisers, I don’t think they trusted him with sensitive information and perhaps they had it and didn’t share it. We’ve had many military officials come out and say, “We couldn’t trust Trump with the information so we provided less and less briefings because he didn’t want to read that much anyway.”

Co-host Sara Haines was noticeably put off by the idea that the Pentagon would hide critical information from a president. “If that was their way of diverting and saying, ‘Oh, it’s happened before,’ you actually are showing me a bigger problem” with the “chain of command,” she said.

Fake Republican Ana Navarro was more interested in taking shots at actual Republicans rather than the Chinese balloon. She took a swipe at Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) for criticizing Biden and the Department of Defense for not shooting it down sooner. “I have a suggestion of a balloon we should send to China,” she declared as an image of the Baby Trump protest balloon appeared on the screen.

She then accused Republicans of doing China’s bidding by “turn[ing] this into this big drama. You know, that there’s senators and people shooting, pointing guns.”

If that’s the case, Democrats and the media did Russia’s bidding by pushing the collusion hoax. And FACT CHECK: No senators shot or pointed guns at the spy balloon.

In addition to Haines, the other person speaking sense at the table was self-described Republican Alyssa Farah Griffin, who worked at the Pentagon as a DoD press secretary under Trump. “I actually think Beijing is celebrating today,” she told them. “Beijing lives for these moments of shows of force against the U.S.”

She also argued that the U.S. had the ability to shoot down the balloon long before it made it over the continental United States. “It went completely across the country and for it not to be shot down before it got to the other side, that’s a victory [for Beijing],” she said.

The balloon passed over the northern Pacific Ocean, the Bering Sea, the uninhabited wilderness of Alaska, and the sparsely populated hills and prairies of Montana. So, Farah Griffin had a strong point.

This defense of the China’s spy program and deception from the Pentagon was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from CarFax and Purina. Their contact information is linked.

SUNNY HOSTIN: I think the President needs to listen to his military. We know that he trusts his military. He trusts his advisers. And they advise that they should jam it. And then they should wait until it was in a place where it could be shot down and the intelligence gathered from the remnants of it. I think that’s actually very thoughtful and it makes a lot of sense to me.

We’ve had many military officials come out and say, “We couldn’t trust Trump with the information so we provided less and less briefings because he didn’t want to read that much anyway.

SARA HAINES: I think that might be guessing a little because it sounds –

HOSTIN: Well, it’s been reported.

HAINES: Well, it’s been reported now that they know that it happened, but –

HOSTIN: I’m talking about the military officials.

HAINES: The military officials knew. And I think it’s a chain of command problem if it has happened more frequently. Because the bottom line is, there’s a process for this. And to bring it to whoever’s there, they needed — To me, if that was their way of diverting and saying, “Oh, it’s happened before,” you actually are showing me a bigger problem.

ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: I actually think Beijing is celebrating today. They have the optics of their – I’m going to call it a spy craft. Balloon makes it sound silly. This is something with a payload of three buses traversing the United States collecting data.

The big thing why they were using this – They’ve have satellite imagery and all of that. They can take specific pictures. It intentionally targeted Montana where our intercontinental ballistic missiles are stored, so our ICBMs. It went completely across the country and for it not to be shot down before it got to the other side, that’s a victory. Beijing lives for these moments of shows of force against the U.S.

ANA NAVARRO: Marco Rubio said, “If we send a balloon to China, Beijing, I guarantee you would shoot it down.” I have a suggestion of a balloon we should send to China. [Points to camera]

[Laughter and applause]

Look. Look, I think this was about China sending a message, right? And that is a serious issue because I think they are establishing themselves — have established themselves as now a major world power. And they want to show their strength.

HOSTIN: Do you think they wanted to show Biden’s weakness as well?

NAVARRO: They want to – Look, they love this. They love that Republicans turned this into this big drama. You know, that there’s senators and people shooting, pointing guns.
