CNN Freaks Over FL CRT Ban: It’s ‘Socialism’ & ‘Terrorizing Families’

A CNN political commentator on the network had a mini-meltdown Wednesday evening during coverage of protests over Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis cracking down on racial and sexual courses and books in Florida public schools.

During Wednesday’s The Lead, Maria Cardona a Democrat activist and CNN political commentator proved she doesn’t actually know what socialism was when she lashed out saying, “If you really look at what these laws do, it’s massive socialism covered in anti-woke cloak.”

Host Jake Tapper was rightfully confused by what Cardona meant by socialism and when asked to clarify, she falsely claimed that what DeSantis was doing was “terrorizing families in terms of going to school and not knowing whether they can talk about something, and if they do, they’re going to get in trouble with the law.”

This was a dangerous lie meant to stoke more outrage and possibly violence since the guidelines on what can and cannot be discussed had been made clear by DeSantis, his administration, and Florida law.

The truth be damned, Cardona continued lying: “Teachers are terrified of teaching something in order to go sideways with what they can and can’t teach in terms of black history.” She then outrageously and falsely claimed that “showing a Harriet Tubman book could get them in trouble.”

“It will work for the Republican base,” Cardona said. “But in a state and in a country that is becoming more multiethnic, multicultural, and younger every day, it’s not gonna work.”

DeSantis won re-election by 19 points, so he has no problem with electoral politics in the state of Florida. So clearly, Florida parents oppose their children being politically, sexually, and racially indoctrinated.

No more reading, writing, and arithmetic. If Cardona has her way, kids will be learning about how America was racist, abortion was good, and how there are fifty-eight genders.

MARIA CARDONA: If you really look at what these laws do, it’s massive socialism covered in anti-woke cloak.

JAKE TAPPER: What do you mean socialism?

CARDONA: Because what they’re doing is they are actually terrorizing families in terms of going to school and not knowing whether they can talk about something, and if they do, they’re going to get in trouble with the law. Teachers are terrified of teaching something in order to go sideways with what they can and can’t teach in terms of black history.

Showing a Harriet Tubman book could get them in trouble. Showing a picture, a poster of Cesar Chavez might get them in trouble. God forbid there’s a kid whose parents worked for a company that might make them feel oppressed. I mean it’s ridiculous the extent to which this governor is overreaching. And it will work for the Republican base but in a state and in a country that is becoming more multiethnic, multicultural, and younger every day, it’s not gonna work.
