Air Force hiring multiple DEI officials to build ‘world-class’ equity and inclusion program

The United States Air Force is seeking to hire multiple senior-level diversity, equity, and inclusion managers in various posts across the nation to develop a “world-class” DEI program.

While the Air Force declined to comment on how many DEI officials it is looking to hire, according to Fox News Digital, since March began, it has published job postings for four senior DEI-related positions.

Each position guarantees a salary of at least $82,000 or more. The Pentagon is offering the highest-paid post at more than $180,000 yearly.

In Arlington, Virginia, the Air Force is seeking to hire a DEI official who would act as a “first-level supervisor” in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. The “supervisory diversity equity inclusion and accessibility officer” would receive “anywhere from $155,700 to $183,500 per year.”

The employee would be responsible for ensuring that “diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility education and training, and strategic outreach and engagement complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.” In addition, the supervisor would be expected to implement “world-class diversity, equity, inclusion & accessibility efforts.”

Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland is looking to hire a Joint Base Installation chief diversity and inclusion officer to act as the “diversity and inclusion manager,” who would earn between $94,199 and $122,459 annually.

The DEI manager would be expected to craft a “strategic vision” for promoting diversity and inclusion through education courses. The base hopes to develop a “culture of Diversity and Inclusion within the Department of Defense.”

Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska is offering to pay $93,367 to $121,378 per year for a chief DEIA officer, who would serve a “range of functions to facilitate and support the achievement of the Installation/Wing Diversity and Inclusion mission.”

The position requires the DEI official to develop educational programs to meet goals and objectives that “enhance a culture of diversity and inclusion within the AF.”

In Alabama, Maxwell Air Force Base is looking to bring on board a “diversity and inclusion coordinator” for $82,830 to $107,680 per year. The DEI advisor would be responsible for implementing “Diversity and Inclusion educational and training courses and workshops to affect a culture of Diversity and Inclusion” on the base.

Outside the Air Force, the federal government has published job postings on for several DEI-related positions.

For example, the Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology in Maryland is hiring for a supervisory director of diversity and inclusion starting at $155,700 per year. The Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families in Washington, D.C., is seeking a diversity, equity, and inclusion analyst starting at $122,015 annually. The White House Office of Management and Budget is looking to hire a DEI specialist starting at $132,000 annually.
