NBC Reports Biden Border Crisis Now Spreading to Northern Border

News & Politics

During Wednesday’s NBC Nightly News, homeland security correspondent Julia Ainsley reported on a story that The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Jennie Taer has extensively covered for weeks: crisis at our southern border has spread to the northern border between the U.S. and Canada.

While NBC Nightly News followed the lead of Taer, ABC’s World News Tonight & CBS Evening News had no interest in covering the story. Instead, ABC and CBS obsessed over the testimony of former pornstar Stormy Daniels in the criminal investigation into former President Trump and the news about the French Bulldog being named the most popular dog, respectively.

Ainsley reported on location along the northern border in upstate New York and announced that “the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office tells us they’re encountering migrants, mainly Mexicans, illegally crossing over the border from Canada at record levels.”

“Crossings here are almost ten times higher than they were last year,” Ainsley reported, adding that there have been “nearly 70,000 crossings over the entire northern border since October.”

In a shocking revelation, Ainsley revealed that “officials say some Mexican migrants believe there’s a better chance they’ll get into the U.S. through Canada. And they can fly to Canada without a Visa.”

“Today the border patrol chief in a stunning admission acknowledging they don’t have control of the southern border,” Ainsley admitted.

In a rare move for NBC, they noted this failure was tied to the Biden administration when she reported that “local police tell us the Biden administration is not doing enough.”

Because the northern border has deteriorated so badly, “border patrol added 25 agents to this sector.” In order to do so, some had to be “taken off the southern border.”

This bias by omission from ABC & CBS was made possible by Liberty Mutual on ABC, and Red Lobster on CBS. Their information is linked.

JULIA AINSLEY: Tonight, America’s newest border crisis. This one up north.

SHERIFF DAVID FAVREAU: It’s definitely a huge issue.

AINSLEY: We are on an exclusive trip with local police patrolling near New York’s border with Canada.

FAVREAU: This is unheard of up here. I mean, I’ve never seen anything like this.

AINSLEY: The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office tells us they’re encountering migrants, mainly Mexicans, illegally crossing over the border from Canada at record levels. Crossings here are almost ten times higher than they were last year. Nearly 70,000 crossings over the entire northern border since October.

AINSLEY: Officials say some Mexican migrants believe there’s a better chance they’ll get into the U.S. through Canada. And they can fly to Canada without a Visa. This man says he flew there and then crossed over. So far the spike in migrants here has not approached the record levels at the southern border where last year there were over 2.3 million illegal border crossings.

Today the border patrol chief in a stunning admission acknowledging they don’t have control of the southern border.

[…]

AINSLEY: Local police tell us the Biden administration is not doing enough. Does border patrol need more people up here?

FAVREAU: Absolutely. There aren’t enough people to be able to cover all this.

AINSLEY: Last week border patrol added 25 agents to this sector. Some of them taken off the southern border. They say it will deter migration, but local police here say they need much more.
