A week after the shocking announcement that Tucker Carlson was leaving Fox News, the internet continues weighing in about who will replace Carlson and where he should head next. Popular podcaster Joe Rogan offered his insight Thursday.
In an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast Rogan and comedian guest Dave Smith discussed that Carlson should take his show to a digital platform. “He’s really designed for the internet,” Rogan said, to which Smith responded, “I hope he goes there.”
“He’s going to unless they paid him off,” Rogan warned. “I mean if I was a person in a position of power in a wild card like Tucker Carlson got released from Fox News and maybe Rumble makes a deal with him or something like that do you have any f***ing idea how big that would be?”
Rumble, a platform launched as an alternative to anti-speech YouTube, has pledged to support free speech and has refused to echo draconian measures to muzzle content. Rogan himself left YouTube after accusing the Google-owned platform of blatant censorship, signing an exclusive deal with Spotify for a reported $200 million in 2020.
Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski slammed Washington Post reporter Drew Harwell for asking “when does Tucker’s Rumble deal start” in an email that Pavoloski described as unprofessional.
“Corporate media’s unprofessionalism and undisguised ideological agenda never ceases to amaze me,” the Rumble CEO blasted in a tweet accompanied by a screenshot of the email.

While Carlson has not detailed his next plans following the April 24 announcement of his Fox News departure, he broke his silence on Twitter on April 26. In a Twitter video, he torched the leftist media and called out both political parties for creating a “consensus on what benefits them and they actively collude to shut down any conversation about it.”

The reasons behind Carlson’s ousting, which sent shockwaves across the internet, remain unknown. Fox News renewed Carlson’s contract in 2021 paying him approximately $20 million a year. Forbes reported the remaining contractual obligations will be paid to Tucker.
It is also unclear whether Carlson will be barred from joining other platforms based on the contractual agreement with Fox, a point Smith made. “I wonder what he’s already under contract for—you know what I mean, like there may already be some clause in his contract that says, ‘you know if we leave there’s x amount of time.’”
