theGrio.com’s April Ryan is always carrying water for the far-left Black organizations and doesn’t take too kindly when called out. But examples like Tuesday afternoon fall into the former column as she used the NAACP’s faux “travel advisory” for the State of Florida to cue her up to trash “misguided” and “discriminatiary [sic] policies” put forth by “extreme Republicans,” led by Governor Ron DeSantis (R).
“NAACP has made a move — a travel advisory from the State of Florida after several issues, against ‘the other,’ if you will, from Governor Ron DeSantis. And they’re saying that the hate that is coming out of this political season is dangerous,” Ryan pontificated without a strain of neutrality.
Only then did she ask what she viewed as a question: “What do you say to what the NAACP has done? I mean, they’re following behind other groups, be it groups on race, on LGBTQ+, but they’re making a bold statement. What do you say to that?”
Jean-Pierre insisted she wouldn’t “comment on travel advisories specifically,” but proceeded to do just that.
Insisting she was speaking “more broadly and where we have been as an administration,” Jean-Pierre touted the Biden regime as “outspoken about the impact of misguided policies advanced by — uh— Florida lawmakers.”
Naturally ignoring the fact that such policies were advanced by a GOP super-majority legislature, Jean-Pierre rattled off a boilerplate of loaded smears:
Republicans in — in Florida have attacked diversity. They’ve attacked inclusion efforts. They’ve limited the teaching of black history. And they’ve launched attacks on the LGBT youth, immigrants, educators, and women’s reproductive freedom. That’s what you have seen from lawmakers in Florida.
If by “limited the teaching of black history” she meant not allowing queer theory or the indoctrination of students by pitting black students as horribly oppressed by their white classmates (even if they too are poor), then yes. And if she means DeSantis protected elementary school students from being shown pornography, then sure. Otherwise, it’s a stretch.
Jean-Pierre continued with her non-answer answer that she’d let the NAACP “speak to their specific — specifics of their travel advisories,” before adding in a mouthful of nothingness (which included a made-up word):
[T]his administration is going to, as we have for the past two years, continue to speak out against discriminatiary [sic] policies push by [sic] state — state leaders across the country — and we’ve seen them across the country by — by Republicans — extreme Republicans putting forth these — these — these policies — these legislation [sic] that hurt Americans, that take away their freedom.
She finally wrapped with a helpful reminder for DeSantis and Florida Republicans, promising the White House would remain “outspoken” against DeSantis and Florida Republicans because “[t]hat’s what we believe it is our duty to do here.”

They’ve limited the teaching of black history. And they’ve launched attacks on the LGBT youth, immigrants, educators, and women’s reproductive freedom. That’s what you have seen from lawmakers in Florida. So I will let NAACP — I’ll let LULAC speak to their specific — specifics of their travel advisories, but this administration is going to, as we have for the past two years, continue to speak out against discriminatiary [sic] policies push by [sic] state — state leaders across the country — and we’ve seen them across the country by — by Republicans — extreme Republicans putting forth these — these — these policies — these legislation [sic] that hurt Americans, that take away their freedom. And so again, we’re going to continue to be outspoken. That’s what we believe it is our duty to do here. That’s what the President believes and we’re going to continue to call this out.
