NY Times Ed Board Member’s Anti-Conservative, Anti-American Bias Unveiled, Again

Well of course.

Here’s the headline from Fox News

NYT editorial board member says it’s ‘silly’ for journalists to hold Harris and Trump equally accountable

‘Given the breadth of what the vice president is offering the American people, there is no comparison with Donald Trump,’ Mara Gay said

Got that? If journalists have the gall - the gall!!!- to hold the Democrat and Republican presidential candidates to equal account – then they should be called out for bias.

And why would that be?

Here is Times Ed Board member Mara Gay explaining why.

It’s “a little silly” Gay explained on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

And just why would that be? Ms. Gay said (with bold print supplied for emphasis):

I think the challenge, not just for journalists, but really for the country, is that not only is Donald Trump a threat, but, you know, it lowers the bar. So I don’t think it’s unacceptable. And I think it’s important for our role as journalists to really push every candidate for office.

…And there are plenty of things that we could hear from the vice president that we’d love to hear more about policy speeches. It’d be great to see her take more questions from the press. Those things are important.

It’s just the context is difficult because of the extremism of the Republican Party, because of how extreme Donald Trump is, it’s hard to hold both candidates accountable equally, because one is committed to democracy and is functioning as a normal candidate from a normal American party, and the other is not.

Got that? Kamala Harris is “committed to democracy.” And Trump is not only not committed to democracy, but along with the Republican Party he is all about “extremism.”

Really? Really?

Recall that it is the Biden-Harris Administration that has made it a point to persecute Trump- to go out of their way to, as a forthcoming Newsmax film (“The Persecution of Donald Trump”) puts it, use the government they and their political allies run to “destroy him personally, financially, and politically.”

Needless to say, the conduct of the Biden-Harris Administration and like minded Democrat progressive prosecutors in left-leaning cities is hardly showing that one is “committed to democracy.”  It would be the direct opposite.

Gay went on to tell Scarborough:

And so, you know, this is really about the extremism of the Republican ticket. And it’s important to hold all candidates accountable. It’s just that when you do that, it does sometimes sound a little silly, because given the breadth of what the vice president is offering the American people, there is no comparison with Donald Trump.

This, mind you, from a member of the Times Ed Board that has stated:

As the institutional voice of The Times, the editorial board serves our mission to help our global audience understand the world by providing a consistent, independent view of the world based on time-tested institutional values.

Got that? The Times Ed Board is about being based on helping “our global audience understand the world by providing a consistent, independent view of the world based on time-tested institutional values.”

And what “time-tested institutional values” would those be?

Recall this story from the New York Post back there in the stone age of June, 2021, a mere three years ago. The Post headline:

NY Times defends Mara Gay for saying she was ‘disturbed’ by American flags

Yes, that would be the self-same Times Ed-Board member Mara Gay, who said the following per the Post

The New York Times is vigorously defending editorial board member Mara Gay after she was widely ripped for saying she was “disturbed” at the sight of “dozens of American flags” flying in Long Island.

Gay had herself complained about the attacks that followed her appearance on MSNBC early Tuesday in which she said Donald Trump supporters flew the flag to say that “this is my country … not your country.

Got that? In the view of this NY Times Editorial Board member, flying the American flag is extremist. Donald Trump is extremist. The Republican Party is extremist. And because of that?

…..“it’s hard to hold both candidates accountable equally, because one is committed to democracy and is functioning as a normal candidate from a normal American party, and the other is not.”

So what do we have here? One party and its candidate – the GOP and former President Trump – is extremist and anti-democracy because its supporters love to fly the American flag. The other party – the one favored by Ms. Gay and the Times - has used its governmental power to persecute the opposition’s presidential candidate, as noted, so as  to “destroy him personally, financially, and politically.” Nothing anti-democracy about that.

Right.

And oh yes. Flying the American flag, per Ms. Gay, is a decided sign of extremism.

Got it.
