he House Judiciary Committee will vote today on a slavery-reparations bill sponsored by Texas Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee. This is a terrible idea in a great many ways.

One of the worst places to be in politics is offering insubstantial but divisive symbolic gestures to your base on cultural issues. Because they are insubstantial and symbolic, they will never be satisfying to your supporters. Because they are visible and divisive, they will be enraging and galvanizing to your enemies. Republicans have long mastered this self-defeating approach.

Democrats usually prefer to seek real cultural power, buried in the fine print and the labyrinths …

  1. Joe has probably never cleaned a fish but is going to do his best to gut the military and the defense department. He talks big but will bend over for our adversaries and abandon our allies, abandon those dying for democratic ideals, and sadly do nothing. As a non veteran following in the steps of Carter, Obama, and Hillary, Biden will allow Mogadishu’s and attacks on embassies to continue. When the fatal moment comes will our allies help or will they even be around? There’s only one way to stand up to bullies. As a final thought does a country without a border actually exist.
