At this point, Trump had done 57, and Obama 131. Despite Biden’s dramatic interview avoidance, the media haven’t found democracy dying in darkness, even with only three interviews with print outlets. The Washington Post happily accepts being shut out of a presidential interview, because almost everyone who works there is a Biden voter.
One print interview was a gushy cover story in People magazine Inside the magazine, the interview began with a splashy photo of the couple next to the words “WE SHARE EACH OTHER’S DREAMS: After a breakneck first 7 days, the president and First Lady get real about their joy, surviving heartbreak — and their resolve to give the nation a fresh start.”
