On the latest episode of “The Rubin Report,” BlazeTV host Dave Rubin talked about Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) admitting that banning former President Donald Trump from Twitter was probably not a good idea; Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) and Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) demanding AAPI racial quotas for Biden Cabinet members; Project Veritas’ court victory against the New York Times; and the results of the “California vs. Florida COVID wars.”
In a New York Times podcast with Ezra Klein, Sanders called Trump “a racist, sexist, xenophobe, pathological liar, an authoritarian, somebody who doesn’t believe in the rule of law, [and] a bad news guy,” before adding that he doesn’t “feel particularly comfortable that the then-president of the United States could not express his views on Twitter.”
Sanders added that he also wasn’t comfortable with a “handful of high tech people” deciding what should be protected under free speech and what to censor.
“Because yesterday it was Donald Trump who was banned, and tomorrow, it could be somebody else who has a very different point of view. I don’t like giving that much power to a handful of high-tech people. But the devil is obviously in the details, and it’s something we’re going to have to think long and hard on,” he said.
