Geraldo Rivera opines that Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ‘outshines every other member of Congress in eloquence and passionate sincerity’

News & Politics

Geraldo Rivera on Wednesday offered high praise for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, saying that the Democratic lawmaker from New York “outshines” all of her congressional colleagues in terms of “eloquence and passionate sincerity.”

“Say what you want about her politics, @AOC Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez outshines every other member of Congress in eloquence and passionate sincerity,” Rivera tweeted.

Ocasio-Cortez, a progressive firebrand who has served in Congress since 2019, was one of the lawmakers who delivered remarks Wednesday on the House floor ahead of a vote to censure Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) over an edited video that includes a brief segment in which a cartoon figure with Gosar’s face superimposed on it attacks another character that has Ocasio-Cortez’s face superimposed over it.

Geraldo’s assessment of the congresswoman spurred a large number of reactions on social media, many of them critical.

“This is a stupid tweet and you should feel stupid for having tweeted it,” Blaze Media’s Steven Crowder said.

“If Geraldo were 50 years younger and female, he would BE AOC. Dumb as a rock, shallow as a pie plate and completely devoid of self-awareness, they are truly kindred spirits,” Gerry Callahan tweeted.

“She has as much eloquence and sincerity as the treasures you found in Al Capone’s vault,” another person tweeted.

“You are embarrassing your own mustache,” someone else wrote.
