A juice cafe chain in California is apologizing after their help wanted sign went viral for asking after workers that will work hard and don’t cry.
A photograph of the sign from Kreation Organic was posted on Twitter and quickly went viral with more than 35,000 “likes” and another 6,300 upvotes on Reddit.
The laminated sign listed a series of qualities the business was looking for in new employees.

Many of the responses from users on Twitter were very negative against the business.
“The lack of self awareness of some business owners is shocking,” said one user.
“Sounds like the list of requirements my violent ex partner insisted on,” responded another critic.
“If I entered a restaurant with a hiring notice like this, I would immediately walk back out,” responded another.
After the post went viral, the company took the sign down and released a statement explaining that the sign had been put up outside of the usual internal vetting.
“From a newly hired-HR perspective, their explanation was that they are in a very frustrating position given the current climate with the job market and difficulty retaining good employees. While their intentions with the sign were good and light-hearted, we absolutely agree that the wording on the signage was way too harsh,” the statement said in part.
“We want workers who do their best, of course, and we also understand that everyone has bad days and we are sensitive to that fact,” they concluded. “Our team made a new sign that highlights the attention & benefits we offer to our employees at Kreation.”
The QR code on the sign went to a website that showed 22 open positions, with positions paying $15 an hour plus tips.
While the unemployment rate has mostly recovered from its low during the pandemic, businesses are reporting a very difficult time finding reliable workers. Economists have called the shortage “The Great Resignation.”
