B-52’s issue super-woke statement blasting bills proposed in the US

The B-52’s, a band known for songs such as “Rock Lobster” and “Love Shack,” has issued a statement denouncing unspecified bills in the U.S. that they claim are promoting “transphobia and discrimination against transgender individuals and drag artists.”

“We, The B-52’s, are deeply concerned about the numerous new bills that promote transphobia and discrimination against transgender individuals and drag artists, which have been introduced in the United States. We strongly denounce these bills and stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ community,” the band said in a statement.

“It is unacceptable that in the 21st century, we are witnessing such blatant attempts to undermine the rights of individuals based on their gender identity and sexual orientation. These bills not only violate the fundamental human rights of the affected individuals but also perpetuate a toxic culture of hate and intolerance that has no place in our society,” the band claimed. “Join us in denouncing these bills and standing in support of our LGBTQ+ community. Together, let us work towards building a society that reflects our shared being and is truly just, inclusive, and welcoming for all.”

While the band did not cite any specific pieces of legislation, their comments come amid ongoing cultural controversies over issues such as whether biological males who identify as women should be permitted to play in female sports, whether minors should be able to undergo gender-transition procedures, and whether children should be present at drag performances.

Commonsense bills around the U.S. seek to tackle these types of issues and protect kids.

For example, South Dakota has approved a measure that prohibits performing sex-reassignment surgeries on minors, prohibits providing minors with puberty blockers, and prohibits suppling minors with unnatural levels of hormones for the purpose of validating the minor’s perceived sex which differs from their actual sex.
