News & Politics

The video that Tucker Carlson posted to Twitter on Wednesday night racked up more than 19 million views in less than 24 hours — the tweet that contains the video has amassed more than 64 million views so far and more than 800,000 likes.

Carlson, whose Fox News Channel program had previously aired weeknights at 8 p.m., posted his brief video at 8:01 p.m. on Wednesday.

“When honest people say what’s true … they become powerful,” he said in the video, adding that those attempting to “silence them” get “weaker.”

“True things prevail,” he declared.

On Monday, Fox News Media issued a press release claiming that the network and Carlson had “agreed to part ways” — but the Wall Street Journal cited unnamed sources to report that Carlson learned that he was being let go around 10 minutes before Fox’s announcement.

Carlson had apparently expected to return to the air on Monday because he closed out his Friday show, which also turned out to be his final episode, by saying, “We’ll be back on Monday.”

There has been an outpouring of support for Carlson following the suprising news on Monday.

Some people have announced that they canceled their subscription to the Fox Nation streaming service.

Some members of Congress have expressed their support for Carlson.

“This video has gotten over 15 million views in 14 hours. @TuckerCarlson’s star is only going to shine brighter and stronger than ever. We love you, Tucker!” Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado wrote in response to Carlson’s video tweet.

“America loves Tucker Carlson,” GOP Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona tweeted in response to Carlson’s post.

“I agree completely. The truth is the only way to win and it’s worth fighting for no matter how hard it is. America looks forward to seeing you again @TuckerCarlson,” Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia tweeted.
