Israel’s ambassador to UN rips Soros for funding ‘pro-Hamas’ groups seeking to destroy Israel

George Soros has recently come under fire by Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, who has claimed that the left-wing billionaire has injected $15 million into a slew of nongovernmental organizations that overtly support Hamas terrorists.

Israeli ambassador Gilad Erdan told Fox News Digital that “George Soros’ donations to organizations that seek the destruction of the State of Israel as a Jewish state is shameful. However, I am not surprised.”

Blaze News recently reported that in Soros’ 1995 book, “Soros on Soros,” the Hungarian-American financier claimed that Zionism “doesn’t appeal” to him because it is apparently “the founding of a nation [Israel] where the Jews are in the majority.”

Soros apparently believes that “being a Jew [is] being in a minority.” The report went on to mention that Soros “also asserted moral equivalence between the Jews’ response to attacks and that of their attackers, saying that sometimes Jews choose to ‘identify with their oppressors’ and even ‘try to become like them.'”

The report continued, saying: “In 2003, at a Yivo Institute for Jewish Research event, Soros blamed the rise of anti-Israel and anti-Jewish hatred in Europe on the George W. Bush administration’s war on Islamic terrorism and ‘likened the behavior of Israel [in defending itself against Arab terrorist attacks] to that of the Nazis, invoking some psychological jargon about victims becoming victimizers.’ He was booed, and many walked out of the event.”

The apparent rise in anti-Semitism has skyrocketed since Hamas terrorists launched a surprise attack against the Jewish state on October 7, where 1,200 people were slaughtered and 240 more were abducted and taken into Gaza. Hatred and prejudice against Jews has especially cropped up in American colleges and universities, with students and faculty claiming that the Jewish state is attempting to commit genocide against Palestinians.

“For years, Soros has backed and transferred money to organizations supporting BDS that want to isolate Israel,” Erdan said. “They have never been about real peace or any solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”

BDS is an abbreviation for a Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions campaign that aims to isolate the Jewish state. The parliaments in both Austria and Germany have designated BDS as an anti-Semitic movement, according to Fox News Digital.

Rachel Ehrenfeld, who wrote a book called “The Soros Agenda,” shared with Fox News Digital that overt “[s]upport of pro-Hamas, pro-Palestinian groups in the U.S. is not limited to foreign entities. It also comes directly and indirectly from U.S.-based foundations. George and Alexander Soros’ Open Society Foundations (OSF) is one of them.”

“Soon after he settled in the White House, Biden appointed Robert Malley as his special envoy to Iran,” Ehrenfeld writes in her book.

“Malley is the former president and CEO of the Soros-funded, Brussels-based International Crisis Group, which, like Soros, has been criticizing Israel and praising Hamas.”
