The list of 170 people who were associated with a lawsuit involving convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was publicly released on Wednesday, according to a judge’s ruling.
Among the names was Democrat former President Bill Clinton.
Judge Loretta Preska of the Southern District of New York ruled in December that the list should be released on Jan. 1, but the release was delayed in order to allow people to file requests to keep their names private.
The list is composed of names of people who were identified in the civil defamation lawsuit against Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell by Virginia Giuffre, who has claimed to be one of the victims of Epstein’s sexual assault crimes.
The list of names also includes some of the alleged victims in the trafficking ring. Preska said that it didn’t make sense to keep their names unsealed for those who had made public statements about their allegations.
Two of the persons whose names were to be unsealed were able to obtain extensions in order to fight in court to remain anonymous.
Another person included in the list was Doug Band, a former aide for Bill Clinton, who had said in an interview that he had tried to keep Clinton from meeting with Epstein but that the former president continued to associate with him.
Other names included in the list were previously known, like Prince Andrew, who has faced heinous accusations from alleged trafficking victims, and French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who committed suicide in jail while awaiting trial for alleged sexual harassment and rape of minors over 15 years old.
Epstein was found dead in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019, and officials said that he committed suicide, but the high-profile nature of the sex trafficking ring led to the proliferation of conspiracy theories about his death.
Maxwell was found guilty of participating in the trafficking and is serving a 20-year sentence at a prison in Tallahassee, Florida.
Clinton was previously tagged as “Doe 36” in the documents.
