CNN anchor Abby Phillip dunks on Keith Olbermann after he trashes her on X

News & Politics

CNN anchor Abby Phillip fired back at Keith Olbermann after he declared in a post on X that she has been a “disaster.”

During remarks after losing the New Hampshire GOP presidential primary to former President Donald Trump on Tuesday, GOP presidential primary candidate Nikki Haley said, “The first party to retire its 80-year-old candidate is going to be the party that wins this election.”

Biden, who is currently 81 and would be 86 by the end of a second term, appears likely to clinch the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential nomination. And Trump, who is currently 77 and would be 82 by the end of his next term if he wins the 2024 presidential contest, seems to be on track to clinch the 2024 Republican presidential nomination

Phillip referred to Haley’s comments as “a smart way to put it” and said that, “Nobody wants Trump, nobody wants Biden, but nobody wants to be … first to walk away from either.”

Olbermann apparently took issue with Phillip’s comments. “CNN has to address the reality that @abbydphillip has been an absolute disaster and that this foot-in-mouth editorial is the first thing she’s gotten noticed for since her show debuted,” he tweeted.

Phillip promptly dunked on Olbermann, describing him as irrelevant. “Or, you can come to terms with the reality of your irrelevance and stop being a nasty social media troll. But that’s entirely up to you,” she wrote.

In another post, Olbermann said of Phillip, “I see her bothsidesing Trump’s madness and Biden’s age and it’s disqualifying.”
