Chris Pratt says he was anguished at backlash over Instagram post to his wife: ‘It really f***ing bothered me’

Hollywood actor Chris Pratt addressed the backlash he received when he published an otherwise innocuous Instagram post praising his wife in November 2021.

Pratt had posted a message praising his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger and expressing joy over their “gorgeous, healthy” daughter.

Critics of the actor twisted the message to lambast Pratt because his younger son had been born with some disabilities to his previous wife.

In an interview with Men’s Health, the actor said he was really anguished by the attacks.

“I said something like, ‘Find someone who looks at you the way my wife looks at me,'” he recalled.

“And then I gave her some s*** in the thing and said, ‘But I love you. I’m so thankful for my wife — she gave me a beautiful, healthy daughter,'” Pratt explained. “And then a bunch of articles came out and said, ‘That’s so cringeworthy. I can’t believe Chris Pratt would thank her for a healthy daughter when his first child was born premature. That’s such a dig at his ex-wife.'”

Pratt went on to say the unfair criticism really hurt him.

“And I’m like, That is f***ed up. My son’s gonna read that one day. He’s nine. And it’s etched in digital stone,” Pratt said.

“It really f***ing bothered me, dude,” he continued. “I cried about it. I was like, I hate that these blessings in my life are, to the people close to me, a real burden.”

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” star has been the focus of a lot of hatred for those who believe he is a conservative Christian based on previous comments he made about God. In April many of his critics took to social media to mock the actor over a scene in his new movie that had vaguely homosexual undertones.

Pratt is a feature actor in “Thor: Love and Thunder,” which will be released to theaters on July 8.
