More U.S. voters see China as an “enemy” than as a friend or ally amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to a new Politico/Morning Consult poll.

The data shows that the percentage of U.S. voters who see China as hostile has risen 11 percentage points since January to 31 percent, while the number of respondents who view China as a friend or an ally has fallen by nine points in the same timeframe to a combined 23 percent. Those who view China as unfriendly but not an enemy remains at around 30 percent — a number that has stayed constant over the past five months.

Ahead of the November presidential election, the poll found that President Trump and former vice president Biden are essentially tied with voters on the China issue, with 40 percent trusting Biden more, 38 percent favoring Trump, and 21 percent undecided. While both candidates have fielded dueling ads over who has been tougher on the Chinese Communist Party, voters prefer working with China to solve the pandemic over holding China accountable at the expense of cooperation by a 28 point margin — 50 to 38 percent.

While the majority of respondents view both Biden and Trump unfavorably, Trump is underwater by 14 points compared to Biden’s four points. Voters also trust Biden more than Trump in handling the pandemic, while the president is viewed more favorably in restarting the economy.

China hawkishness has been on the rise since the pandemic began, with Pew Research Center finding in a poll last month that Americans who view China unfavorably outnumber those who view China favorably by more than a 2-to-1 margin, 66 to 26 percent.

  1. Don’t like Communist China’s rise? To bad, Communist China is exactly what we have allowed it to become.

Congress can repeal Communist China’s MFN (Most Favored Nation) Trade status and bring 8.7 million jobs (lost between December 2007 and early 2010) back to the USA anytime they wish. That was Clinton’s gift to America in 1999 in exchange for laundered Communist Chinese campaign contributions.

Republican supporters and big business would stop that.

Major Corporations have found that Communist China’s State Sponsorship of Capitalism is the idea market for them to be in.

    Unlike the US….
    No environmental laws.
    No child labor laws.
    No Patent enforcement.
    Blatant counterfeiting of US products.
    Weak state controlled unions.
    Low wages.
    Long hours.
    No benefits.

Lol, Even US Corporate expenses related to out sourcing American jobs are tax deductible. Its true. Google the thread and read it for yourself.

It is really to Ironic that the very same Americans displaced by out sourcing and out of work pay the tab for those very tax deductions.

  2. Revoke China’s MFN (Most Favored Nation) trade status and ban all trade with Communist China.

China is an unfair trading partner that has manipulated its currency for the last 20 years. MFN created the trade deficit that threatens to bankrupt our nation.

Yet our patriotic corporations greedily fall all over themselves to use China’s MFN trade status bestowed by our Government to the detriment of our country and our children’s future.

Bill Clinton’s administration worked to bring China into the newly created World Trade Organization and to put unconditional MFN treatment for China on a permanent basis. This culminated in an agreement of 15 November 1999 to make China a full member of the WTO.

    1. Good luck with that.

Do you know who Mitch McConnell is married to? Elaine Chao, Secretary of Transportation, and one of the wealthiest members of the U.S. Senate, after receiving a 2008 personal gift to him and his wife, given by his father-in-law James S. C. Chao. He has built and ran the biggest shipping company in China and … well, that will be enough to get you googling.

If we keep electing RINO’s this is what we will get.
