I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and respond to your statement by saying to you that you should not confuse my anger about seeing a man murdered by a police officer who has sworn to uphold the law for all, and not murder those they may look down on, which seems evident per the 18 complaints brought against him over his law enforcement years. I watched the entire video more than once only to see a man, a police officer, with no concern on his face for the person’s neck he had his knee on. People were trying to tell him that the man seemed to be in trouble. Several spoke to him in a normal way appealing to him to put the man in the car instead, but he seemed to me to press down a little harder, let up, press a little harder. The man may have been able to talk at the beginning of the 8 minutes, hence able to breathe, as one official put out in defense of the officer’s actions, I suppose, but after 8 minutes the man had no pulse and was
declared to be dead. The man was telling the officer he couldn’t breathe. He cried out. He even called out for his deceased mother. Even though we have heard very little about whatever crime he committed to end up with 4 officers on him, of which 1 kneeled on his neck for 8 minutes causing his death! There’s no reason or excuse which comes close to justifying that deadly over-reaction by a police officer with 3 other police officers there, too, with a man who was under control except for his human instinct to need to breathe behaving upset bc he was having difficulty breathing. Had the officer(s) handcuffed him and placed him in their police vehicle none of this would have happened. For any one of those officers to say that man was resisting is bs as evident on the various videos and by way of witness accounts. I have always had great respect for police officers and therefore have given them the benefit of the doubt bc they deal with criminals of all kinds on a daily basis, thus needing some room for choices they are forced to make under the worst of circumstances. I stop short of murder! That officer knows better, too, per his 18 total complaints. So, after saying all of that, and getting back to my response, Peter, you are confusing my anger with hate.
