Al Sharpton should be ashamed of himself. On his MSNBC show on Saturday night, Sharpton said that once a coronavirus vaccine becomes available, black leaders will need to be:
“convinced ourselves that the vaccine is fine to take or that it is not something that we’ve experienced in our own history in the black community like the Tuskegee experiment.”
Sharpton was referring to the infamous Tuskegee study conducted by the U.S. Public Health Service from 1932 to1972, in which black men were left untreated for syphilis despite being assured that they were being treated. Four hundred of the group had syphilis and never received deliberate treatment for the venereal disease.
Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin fed Sharpton’s paranoia, saying, “you’re right, reverend. The city of Birmingham is not too far from Tuskegee. And 2020 is not too far from the history of the Tuskegee experiment, where we know when you speed up [inaudible], there’s mistrust, there’s no trust, there’s distrust.”
It is outrageous that Sharpton, without the smallest scintilla of evidence, would float such a paranoid conspiracy theory. The result will be to foster distrust among black Americans, leading to many avoidable infections and deaths.

AL SHARPTON: Now, you have — and many in elected office, and many of us that are not that have public platforms, have the dual problem of, one, making sure that if a vaccine does come about, that it is distributed in areas that have — desert areas when it comes to health services.And, convincing a lot of people in the community, once we’re convinced ourselves, that the vaccine is fine to take or that it is not something that we’ve experienced in our own history in the black community like the Tuskegee experiment. So on one hand, we got to know that this is real, and that it is something that is something we could endorse for people to take, and then we have to make sure it’s available, which gives you a double problem that many mayors will not have to face in this country.

Have you never heard of the Tuskegee Syphilis Study aka the Tuskegee Experiment? It was pure evil. The CDC and the PHS in partnership with the Tuskegee Institute held a clinical trial from 1932 to 1972 to observe the natural history of untreated syphilis. They enrolled 600 poor black men by telling them that they would receive free healthcare. Instead, they were given placebos so those “doctors” could study how syphilis ravaged their bodies.
This is the dumbest statement Sharpton has made in a long time. It proves he is 100% racists, disliking all caucasians, believing they are out to harm all back people. Little does this foolish man realize he is hurting his own race with such statements. Stupid is as stupid does!

I think I am bringing some level of objectivity with this comment. I met Al Sharpton in person at the SuperDome in New Orleans during the Essence Festival. Al Sharpton is a physically small, tiny man. Makes me wonder if some of his antics are rooted in a Napoleon Complex/Syndrome. He is absolutely disingenuous, phony, perverted and a con man. A bad spirit emanates from his person when you are in close proximity to him. I actually became nauseous. He calls himself a reverend but I suspect he is anything but. Sharpton, be warned-Jesus knows your heart and you can’t fool him. You may fool a lot of black Americans but not this one, son. Get your life right before it is too late. I will pray for you.

I say Al should follow in the foot steps of Commala Harris. “I won’t take it if Trump was involved” I say good. There are other people who will need the vaccine that are more important humans.
When some percentage of African Americans believe Sharpton’s rantings and the case rate, hospitalization rate, and death rate hits new disproportionate highs, he will be claiming that it’s due to America’s systemic racism. The only hoax on display here is Sharpton himself.
The Rev has never been noted for scruples, veracity or concern for anyone unless it was somehow beneficial to him, especially in dollars.
