Is It Time for Mitch McConnell to Step Aside?

Elections

Surprise, surprise, Chris Buskirk, publisher and editor of American Greatness, believes that the biggest takeaway from these past few election cycles should be that it’s time for Mitch McConnell to take his leave as head of the Republican caucus in the Senate. Naturally.

For Buskirk, the proof is in the pudding. Let’s start back in 2016. Buskirk writes that:

It is McConnell who has been the architect of Republican defeat in the Senate. Heading into the 2016 election, there were 54 Republican senators. After the election there were 52.

He stays intentionally vague for a reason. Republicans faced a tough map in 2016, …

  1. It is past time for Mitch to retire. The only good thing he did was finally admit that Bidens election was legitimate. But before that he was a Trump enabler and a liar. Now, I would like say that I enjoy reading what right wing extremists are saying about Trump’s win being stolen from him. But this is simply false, and you all have been following false news rampant in Twitter and Facebook, which should have Shut Trump down a year ago. Why cant you all admit you were wrong, take a breather, and let the government finally work as it should. And leave Trump on the golf course in Florida to spend the rest of his days in retirement. He was the worst. President. Ever. And I have seen many of them. And as for retired Vets joining the militias that ransacked the Capitol and almost murdered lawmakers, they also need to go to the Beach and sell their uniforms. They are DONE. Let us appreciate their service to the country they supposedly love without having to call them thugs. And as for law enforcement personnel who allowed the mob entrance and extended their sympathy, they are simply traitors and should be given jail sentences or worse, and stripped of their jobs forever. This country is built on laws, not violence and insurrection. Yes, both sides need to adhere to that, but there is a concept of justice. If the Jan 6 rebellion had been led by black mobs, there would be dead people lining the streets of the capitol. And “deep state?” To rational people who know it is not the free press, the media, or Black Lives Matter, or rich corporations, but a voodoo-like entity that believes in Qu’anon and that lawmakers(all Democrats of course) are involved in sex trafficking and other mysterious stuff with no link to reality, the “deep State” is Trump’s ability to hold on to power even after he should have none, to hold on to irrational beliefs and ideas completely devoted to destroy humanity and in the process Democracy. In the words of one who has lived a long time, “What were/ are you thinking?” Probably that you can get away with violence and mob rule and Trump will have your back.. How Misguided….. I hope that Trump is banned from Facebook and Twitter and the ability to hold office the rest of his life. And, by the way, the path to citizenship should be easier and more fulfilling. The more citizens are naturalized, the stronger America will be. And kudos to Biden for seeing Covid as the number one issue…not protocol or filibuster issues. As for the missing doses…maybe ask Trump, who kept no records and washed his hands of the whole disease way before the election. He was just not up to it. Biden has been leading this country for many years in many capacities, not like Trump, who knows nothing of real power, which is leadership.

Leadership and power in civilizations is the ability to empower others to be their best selves…..whether in government and nations, or in workforces, families, friendships, and simple human encounters.
