Pat Gray: Apple’s Privacy Campaign is a JOKE

News & Politics

Have you seen Apple’s new privacy campaign? In their latest ad, Apple boasts that it now allows users to choose whether or not apps can track them and collect their personal information.

Apple claims: “Privacy is a fundamental human right. At Apple, it’s also one of our core values. Your devices are important to so many parts of your life. What you share from those experiences, and who you share it with, should be up to you. We design Apple products to protect your privacy and give you control over your information. It’s not always easy. But that’s the kind of innovation we believe in.”

In this clip, Pat Gray reacted to the Apple ad in amusement calling the move a joke.

“First of all, Google paid billions to Apple for Safari [Apple’s default web browser] to route all internet searches through Google,” Pat said.

He went on to say that while Apple now gives users more control over third-party tracking, the tech company still licenses Google to be the default browser, which generates revenue off of internet searches.
