Closing out another incredibly busy news week, NewsBusters deputy managing editor Nick Fondacaro and I kicked off Friday’s NewsBusters Podcast with some gloating over the sentencing of Jussie Smollett — the far-left actor who faked a hate crime on a January 2019 Chicago night in subzero temperatures — and the liberal media’s complicity in his lies.
For weeks, ABC’s Robin Roberts and other assisted Smollett in peddling a tall tale that he had been assaulted by homophobic and racist Trump voters. Specifically, the broadcast networks gave his claims 157 minutes before they fell apart.
We were then joined by NewsBusters associate editor Kyle Drennen to further drill down from Wednesday’s show (pun intended) on the media’s disinformation campaign over gas prices, inflation, and the role of the Biden administration. Thankfully, CNBC’s Rick Santelli and Fox’s Peter Doocy were among those who zeroed in on the truth.
Simply put, the aversion to more domestic energy production is intentional.
