NewsBusters Podcast: Media Hold Memorial Service for Roe 1 Year Overturned

News & Politics

Welcome NewsBusters listeners! On this episode of the NewsBusters podcast, Senior Research Analyst Bill D’Agostino and I break down the liberal media’s mournful remembrance of Roe v. Wade one year out from it being overturned. We examine their unhinged meltdowns and their rare admission that the liberal position of abortions at any time and for any reason was something too “extreme” for most Americans. And a quick update on the media’s coverage of Hunter Biden’s scandals.

First, we listen to MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski and her pre-anniversary screeching where she suggested Republicans “support sterilization of women by denying them the health care they need.” She also hints at the right not actually being pro-life because they support “an unhealthy gun culture.” To which, I reject that idea by pointing to how they focus on the edge cases to push for abortion and the edge cases to call for gun control.

Brzezinski is an open partisan. So, as an example of the subtler way the liberal media take a side in the abortion debate, Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan was under the microscope. We look at how her grilling Democratic Congresswoman Veronica Escobar from the left on Democratic efforts to get Roe resurrected and codified in the states.

Then there was ABC and Jonathan Karl’s open admission that even the liberal side of the abortion debate had an “extreme” policy position, although they didn’t dig into it. NPR’s Asma Khalid even bragged that liberals don’t have to answer for that position and just get to rail against Republicans.

Enjoy!
