But it was front-page news that Manhattan’s District Attorney, an elected Democrat, announced tax fraud charges against the Trump Organization. The New York Times touted ”Trump’s Business Charged in ‘Audacious’ Tax Scheme: Prosecutors Describe 15 Years of Hiding Executives’ Luxury Perks and Bonuses.”
USA Today put the Trump-tax prosecution at the top of Page 1. “Charges muddy Trump’s future,” was the headline. “Journalists muddy Trump’s future” has been a headline every day since 2015.
