Police have arrested a Los Angeles mother after she reportedly murdered three of her seven children on Mother’s Day.

Her unnamed 16-year-old son is said to have helped with the murders.

What are the details?

Police said that Angela Flores, 38, admitted to killing three of her children — two boys and one girl — on Sunday.

When police arrived at her home, they discovered the bodies of 12-year-old Natalie, 8-year-old Nathan, and Kevin, who was believed to be around 10 years old.

The cause of the kids’ deaths was not immediately known.

According to CBS News, the woman’s other three children live out of state with their father.

Flores was booked into the Los Angeles County jail on Sunday night on three counts of murder in connection with her children’s deaths. Her bail was set at $6 million.

Her son, who was arrested on one count of murder, is being held at a local juvenile detention center.

A deeper look

Neighbors in the area said that Flores was acting out over the weekend.

“I heard someone screaming, ‘My family is abusing me’ and all kinds of nonsense,” one neighbor said. “I guess at that time she was in our neighbor’s yard … burning a candle and she had the Bible out.”

The neighbor added that Flores was removed from the scene on a stretcher and “kept popping up, jumping up, saying, ‘Where’s my Bible? Where’s my Bible?'”

In a statement on the kids’ deaths, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon said, “The deaths of these three children are truly horrific and tragic. As a parent and a grandparent, I send my heartfelt condolences to the people who love them. We will continue to work with Los Angeles police detectives and my prosecutors will make a filing decision once they have reviewed all of the evidence.”
