Vile John Oliver Uses Queen’s Death as Way to Trash New Conservative PM

News & Politics

HBO host John Oliver hates anyone or anything conservative. So it’s not a shock that the “comedian” on Sunday night mocked the death of Queen Elizabeth as a way of slamming the new Conservative British Prime Minister Liz Truss: “The nicest thing the Queen of England ever did for anyone was die the week that woman became prime minister.”

Truss has been compared to conservative icon Margaret Thatcher, something that caused Oliver to fume:

Liz Truss —  basically, Margaret Thatcher if she were high on glue –  became its new prime minister.

The Last Week Tonight host mentioned the coming harsh European winter and that high energy prices may cost the British government more than a hundred billion pounds. Oliver complained, “Many have suggested that, rather than passing that cost along to taxpayers, some of it should be recouped through a new so-called windfall tax on oil and gas companies, who have made huge profits during the price spike for doing absolutely nothing. But Truss has no interest in doing that.”

He then played this fairly standard conservative comment from Truss:

One thing I absolutely don’t support is a windfall tax. I think it’s a Labour idea. It’s all about bashing business, and it sends the wrong message to international investors and to the public. I don’t think profit is a dirty word and the fact it’s become a dirty word in our society is a massive problem because there are, you know, in this audience today we have hundreds of people who run businesses and make a profit and I think that’s a good thing.

The unhinged Oliver spat:

What the fuck are you talking about? I’m just going to say this and you may not like it, but it doesn’t make it any less true: The nicest thing the Queen of England ever did for anyone was die the week that woman became prime minister. Because for at least a week, she’s not going to be getting justifiably destroyed for answers like that!

Oliver sure seems upset about the powerful not paying their fair share in taxes. So it’s odd that in 2017 he used a tax loophole when buying his $9.5 million Manhattan penthouse. Or that the left-wing populist Oliver has an estimated net worth of $35 million. Sure sounds like those oil and gas companies he rages about.

But then this is the guy who minimized the sexual abuse scandal of former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Oliver also found time to trash conservative Meghan McCain as a “hater.” Here’s his history of trashing “racist,” “evil” conservatives.

Remember, it’s not about comedy for John Oliver. It’s about protecting Democrats and liberals in power.

JOHN OLIVER: But the Queen’s death is not the only traumatic event Britain’s had to deal with this week. Because on Tuesday, Liz Truss —  basically, Margaret Thatcher if she were high on glue –  became its new prime minister.

OLIVER: Truss has now proposed limiting energy prices, which could reportedly cost the government more than a hundred billion pounds. And many have suggested that, rather than passing that cost along to taxpayers, some of it should be recouped through a new so-called windfall tax on oil and gas companies, who have made huge profits during the price spike for doing absolutely nothing. But Truss has no interest in doing that.

LIZ TRUSS: One thing I absolutely don’t support is a windfall tax.

TRUSS: What the fuck are you talking about? I’m just going to say this and you may not like it, but it doesn’t make it any less true: The nicest thing the Queen of England ever did for anyone was die the week that woman became prime minister. Because for at least a week, she’s not going to be getting justifiably destroyed for answers like that! Look, things are pretty bleak in the UK right now. Look, things are pretty bleak in the UK right now.

OLIVER: This fucking guy [King Charles] is about to be on all the money, and morning TV is now basically the Hunger Games, but don’t worry, Britain — your future is now securely in the hands of dollar store British Leslie Knope here! Everything’s going to be fine.
