23-Year-Old Georgia Police Officer Suddenly Dies During Foot Chase

Cairo, Georgia is in mourning after officer Clarence “CJ” Williams died from a sudden medical emergency while on duty

According to WSBTV, Officer Williams, 23, was assisting with a routine traffic stop when the suspect who was pulled over ran from the car.

A foot chase immediately occurred which led to Williams collapsing mid-pursuit.

Attempts were made to revise officer Williams but they were to no avail.

Per  Officer Down Memorial Page 

“Officer Williams was assisting a Grady County sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop in the area of 10th Street and Robinson Avenue. The subject fled the vehicle, and the officers pursued him. During the chase, Officer Williams collapsed and was unable to be revived.”

Williams joined the Cairo Police Department in 2020 and died on January 28th, 2023 while serving the community he loved.

Those who knew Williams described him as a bright light that always knew how to make others smile.

Previously ,the Cairo Police Department posted on their Facebook page that they invited Cairo’s Mayor and a representative from a local medical center to discuss the “benefits of getting the Covid-19 vaccine.

As of right now the cause of Williams’ death has yet to be revealed.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is still looking into the details which led to Williams’ collapse.
