DESPICABLE: Joe Biden vacations as Maui burns

News & Politics

Tragedy has struck Maui.

While only a quarter of the wildfire burn area has been searched, at least 99 people have been confirmed dead from the wildfires that overtook the island. Hawaii authorities worry that the death toll of the deadliest U.S. wildfire in more than a century could still rise significantly.

However, Joe Biden doesn’t seem too concerned. As the president was leaving his beach house in Delaware, a reporter asked him to comment on the rising death toll in Maui.

“No. No comment,” Biden responded.

Pat Gray isn’t surprised.

“Just bizarre and terrible, as everything is with him,” he says.

While it would have been simple for the president to at least say he was “heartbroken” or “it’s tragic,” he decided to ignore the travesty all together.

Keith Malinak is on the same page.

“I want to say tone-deaf, but that’s not even, that’s not good enough. This is par for the course for this guy,” he says, agreeing.

Residents of the island have been recorded standing in the ocean to escape the flames.

Not only did the president refuse to comment on the tragedy, but he’s recorded smiling as he does so — which Malinak calls a “sinister, goofy-a** smirk.”

“This administration has such a way with words,” he adds.

“They’re all so bright and sharp. It’s hard to keep up with them,” Gray agrees.
